The Academy meets on Thursday nights from 6:30-9:30 p.m. in the Meridian Township Public Safety Building. Lectures give attendees the opportunity to learn about the criminal justice system and it's role in the community.
"We try and introduce them into what this department does and in general what policing is about, but more specifically this particular agency and how it operates and what the officers do and different aspects of policing," said Greg Frenger, Lieutenant of Meridian Township Police.
Participants will meet every Thursday until November 1st. To enroll in the academy contact Carol Hasse at 517-853-4800.
