UPDATE:
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Sam Singh, a Democratic state representative, let us take a look inside his campaign.
"We've spent most of our time going door to door. I just think that's the most effective way to communicate with people, have them have the opportunity to ask me questions, learn about my experiences and my background," said Singh.
He hasn't been doing it alone.
"We've also pulled together a great team of volunteers from recent MSU graduates to seniors in our community, and they all have different reasons why they joined this campaign," said Singh.
"But they all have been wanting to get that message out about investing and how we've moved the state of Michigan forward. And so it's been fun to bring this group together on the campaign."
Molly Korn, a recent MSU graduate spoke about what it has been like on the campaign trail.
"On a daily basis we go out and we canvas so we're doing some door to doors, talking to people, talking to voters and just giving them information about Sam, telling them about his background and his dedication to the district and the community that sort of thing, making phone calls, preparing any sort of literature that we've got," said Korn, a field organizer for Singh's campaign.
We'll see how the race plays out for the Democratic candidate for the 69th District State Representative.
