UPDATE:
EAST LANSING - Ingham County TRIAD hosted their seventh annual senior prom and more than 200 senior citizens across Mid-Michigan participated the event.
The event was held at the East Lansing Marriott where it was filled with seniors wearing their best outfits for a dinner and a dance.
Ingham County TRIAD is a partnership among Law Enforcement Agencies, Fire Personnel, and Senior Citizens to promote elder quality of life through education and training.
Ingham County Sheriff Gene Wriggelsworth came with his wife to show the support and let the seniors know that they care about the program. And some seniors took that opportunity to steal a few dance with police officers.
Food was provided all by donation, the band performed for free and the officers volunteered to be there. For Renee Koreey, the Vice Chair at Ingham County TRIAD, the night was more than a joyful night. "It was a filled with positive energy, all the money raised here goes right into our community for senior citizens and I wanted to make sure that everyone is having a good time."
The admission cost $25 and raffle was going on through out the night. All the money raised went to support different charities and the annual No Senior Without Christmas Project, providing baskets for seniors without a Christmas.
