UPDATE:
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Meridian Township has new plans to get residents off major roads and they are referring to them as Inter-Urban Connectors.
The current Inter-Urban Connector is an off road pathway that runs from Burcham Road to Marsh Road. The township has plans to add more of these off road scenic routes when funding becomes available. There are currently 75 miles of pathways in the township, but a majority of them are parallel to roads.
Raymond Severy, Director of Public Works and Engineering in Meridian Township said, "The off road pathways are really ideal because it gets people away from the busy roads and it's a more scenic route for people to follow. We don't have a lot of those in the township right now but we are slowly adding them."
Severy also encourages residents to report to the township if they have specific locations where brush has grown over the pathway. You can contact Severy at 517-853-4448 to take care of the problem.
