INGHAM COUNTY - Dep. McElmurray recommends that boaters stay more than 150 feet apart from other boats.
Boaters should also always keep in mind that the amount of people in the boat should be equal to the amount of personal flotation devices (PFDs) you have.
Swimmers should try to stay in swimming areas and not go out in the middle of the lake. Boaters cannot always see swimmers and can easily hit them on accident.
