MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Central Fire Station is old, real old and with old age comes problems and while the township board has made it clear they want to close the station, what happens next is still up in the air.
Right now, it seems most board members are in favor of building a new station.

The potential sites for building are at Central Park and Okemos Roads, on Grand River off of Powell Rd, or somewhere on the west side of the Township.
"I think we should do what the Fire Chief suggested and build up the staff at the two current stations", said Meridian Township Supervisor, Susan McGillicuddy.

The board will continue their discussion at their May 15th meeting.
