UPDATE:
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - At the Township Board Meeting on April 17th the Board reacted to a string of complaints from residents.
Residents have been complaining for awhile about being disturbed by noises while inside their homes, in particular barking dogs as well as off road vehicles.
So, the Board discussed how they can ammend the Noise Ordinance to address these complaints. They agreed on adding the words, "inside a residential home" to address the issue of barking dogs and the issue of noise from off road vehicles will be resolved by requiring a muffler.
Susan McGillicuddy, Supervisor of Meridian Township said,
"There is some easy fixes we can do for our code. Already it addresses barking dogs we just have to insert the word "inside a residential home." The ordinance already says you know if it is a nuisance it shouldn't be a nuisance if you are in an office, or commercial area, or residence it just doesn't say inside a residence."
These changes will be voted on and put into action at the next meeting.
