OKEMOS, MI - Home Instead of Okemos, located at 2175 University Park Drive Unit 200, will be hosting their Alzheimer’s Family Education Workshop on Thursday, July 20, 2023, from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
Home Instead offers personalized in-home senior care services that has provided exceptional care for over 20 years. Their professional caregivers meet the needs, as well as maintain a healthy, trusting, and long-lasting relationship with the patient and their loved ones.
Their upcoming Alzheimer’s Family Education Workshop will provide educational and helpful information regarding Alzheimer’s Disease. This workshop will provide more insight about the causes and how to recognize Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementias.
“Our Alzheimer’s Family Education Workshop is designed to help support family caregivers in providing care for their loved ones with dementia, specific to their needs,” said Co-Franchise Owner Wynn Esterline.
“Not only will you walk away with a better understanding of the disease, but also the tools to help manage difficult behaviors and support your loved ones in their daily routines. For example, getting them to take their medication, personal hygiene, and other day to day tasks.”
In addition to the above-mentioned tactical skills, participants will learn techniques on how to manage and handle challenging behaviors. There will also be helpful activities to encourage engagement for the mind, body, and soul to stimulate the patient’s five senses and many more that will be beneficial for families.
