MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - In addition to the usual Farmers' Market held on Wednesdays at the Marketplace on the Green, this Wednesday, October 20th, Meridian Township families and children were treated to Spooktacular Adventures at the Market for a Halloween celebration.
As always, there were market vendors from over a dozen local businesses, but Wednesday’s activities included a kids area with prizes, a scavenger hunt, Halloween music, and plenty of costumes. Other highlights included face and finger painting, as well as balloon animals.
The Meridian Township Fire Department and Police Departments were out handing out candy, and the evening festivities even included a visit from the Great Lakes Ghostbuster Coalition.
“We just try and have a lot of fun, spread goodwill and cheer, and share a smile with everybody through our fandom. I like it all…I hope that this is a thing that we as adults…that we keep this alive with the kids, and we make it safe and we make it fun,” Coalition member Dan Holroyd said about their appearance at the Market.
Other upcoming Halloween events include “Howl”-oween at the Large Dog Park on October 27th, a Police Department Open House from 10AM-1PM on Saturday October 30th, and trick-or-treating hours from 6pm-8pm on Halloween, Sunday, October 31st.
