MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, MI - Sport are back for Meridian Township residents in 202. After not being able to play in 2020 due to the pandemic, recreational leagues are back up and running across Meridian for people of all ages.
Nearly all sports programs across the Township were unavailable in 2020, with only a slight few able to take place with strict social distancing measures in place.
Currently, there are adult leagues available for softball, kickball, beach volleyball, pickleball and golf, as well as youth leagues for baseball, softball and golf.
Rob Dale is a Meridian resident who plays in a weekly slow-pitch softball league, and when asked about the return to play said, "It feels great, actually...we love Meridian Township, their sports programs, [so] we're good to be here. Last year, I think a lot of people got used to not having softball...we came back for another season."
