UPDATE: EAST LANSING - Every year a new round of MSU Students arrive on campus for move-in.

MSU Junior, Yidong Sun remembers just how hard that transition was.

"The first couple weeks, just nobody knows me, I don't know nobody, so it was pretty scary" said Yidong.

Some MSU students, like Yidong, traveled internationally without knowing anyone or ever visiting campus.

"The first reaction was pretty shocked. Yeah that's all, but over time, I got used to it so I think it's normal" said Yidong.

Beginning this fall, international students will have more options to make the transition to life in the U.S. a little easier by introducing the new Spartan Hostel and the Between-Semester Housing plans.

Kathy Collins, the director of Campus Living Services and Resident Life at MSU said, "We decided to offer these services because it simply was the right thing to do. It is a safe, convenient and cost effective option for short term housing for our international students and other students who are unable to travel home in-between semesters".

"I feel really proud of myself by thinking back, how I figured it out all by myself. First time, I just, I'd prefer somebody would help me if I can do it all over again, but it's different lessons that you can receive, so it's all great" said Yidong.

The Spartan Hostel will be available on Monday, August 13th, through Thursday, August 16th in Mason and Abbot Halls.
