UPDATE:
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - This past weekend was week three of this years opening of the Spring Farmers mMarket…. bringing about everything from your usual flowers, food and produce to even circus jugglers!
New additions to this years farmers market include coffee and gluton free products, along with expanding more into the Historical Village.
The biggest addition to the market has to do with their new initiative to accept bridge cards from customers who want to purchase items in the market.
The move was made possible due to various individuals pretty close to home.
"“We were able to do it because we have volunteers in the community through Edgewood Village, along with four community churches between Haslett and Okemos that have volunteered to help run the machine to disperse the tokens and things like that, to help eligible clients to get those tokens," said Christine Miller, Meridian Township Farmers Market Manager.
The Farmers Market runs on Saturdays from May through October and Wednesdays from July through October from 8am to 2pm.
