MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - This past Tuesday, the Township Board held a special meeting to discuss possible improvements to the Daniels Drain area. The changes that are being proposed would attempt to return the land surrounding the pond back to it's original state. The reason for doing this is to improve the drainage of the water collected in the area.
While some residents are concerned about the cost of the project, the overall benefits for the area are expected to be long lasting. Pat Lindonmen, the Ingham County Drain Commissioner, states that, "...those drains need to be maintained, they need to be cleaned...that all helps to add longevity [to the watershed]"
No official decision about the project has been made.
