MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township Public Works & Engineering Department has been working on a new project. While the project is small, it is incredibly important for the residents of Meridian.
There is a gap in the sidewalk on Lake Lansing road, and the township is working to repair it. This gap exists right on the border between Meridian Township and East Lansing.
This particular pathway experiences heavy foot traffic, so it is imperative that the gap is repaired as soon as possible. Physical work has not yet begun on the gap. Derek Perry, Meridian Township Assistant Township Manager/Director of Public Works & Engineering, comments, "At some point they'll be doing some grading and staking and those kinds of things, but it's still too early [to begin construction] now".
The Public Works & Engineering Department anticipates that this project will be completed by early 2016.
