UPDATE:
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - More than a hundred cops and children met early that morning at the Plymouth Congregational Church in Lansing, where each team made up of one cop and one child would get an early start on Christmas shopping.
Each year for the holiday season, various Wal-Mart shopping centers across the nation provide their store space for the event where under privileged children are given a $100.00 budget and will team up with one cop to go up and down the store aisles to shop for themselves and family members.
The Ingham County cops and the children were escorted to the Eastwood Town Center Wal-Mart and grabbed baskets to begin shopping. Several of the police officers expressed how selfless the children were in that most were more concerned about providing gifts for their loved ones rather than themselves.
After the gifts had been wrapped and delivered to the children, Ingham County officers made their way to the next Shop With A Cop event in Charlotte, MI.
