UPDATE: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - There is a concern of safety for pedestrians on a portion of Mt. Hope Road without a sidewalk and the high speed limit.

The Township is going to revisit the plan and hopefully come to an agreement with the homeowners on put a pathway behind some of their trees.

Director of Public Works, Ray Severy stated that it is a priority for the Township to avoid negative impacts on the properties.

Mt. Hope resident, Patty Roethele also stated that she is not sure how far back they are planning on putting the sidewalk but thinks the Township will be respectful enough to work with residents on the issue.

With this section of sidewalk, there would be a pathway stretching from Okemos to Hagadorn roads.
