MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Residents in Meridian Township should be excited to hear that the drinking water distributed in the Township is safe to drink, as of now.
The East Lansing- Meridian Water and Sewer Authority ( East Lansing - Meridian Water and Sewer Authority) publishes an annual water quality report that reflects the water quality for the previous year.
The report is typically published by June 30 of each calendar year and it gives a range of parameters that the company has tested throughout the year and how those results compare to the regular limit.
“I haven't seen that preliminary data,” said Derek Perry, Meridian Township Assistant Township Manager/Director of Public Works & Engineering. “But we do meet monthly with the ELMWSA staff and they haven't really reported anything that would be out of line or anything that would be of concern. So I expect it to be a standard report that our water is excellent and ready to drink.”
Although the water is safe to drink for now, the ELMWSA encourages residents to maintain the purity of the water and protect the environment in this community.
