UPDATE:
OKEMOS - Meijer in Okemos has plans in motion to add to it's store. Meijer's special use permit was approved at the November 14 Planning Commission meeting. The permit is for the construction of a drive-thru pharmacy on the right side of the Meijer's building.
The plan includes two lanes, a drive thru and a passing lane. The plan also includes a green space and still provides enough walking area to get in and out of the garden area easily.
"It will benefit customers because it will involve people who do not want to come into the store to get prescriptions, they can stay in their care," said Meijer Real Estate Manager Roger DeHoek.
Meijer has been making changes to it's construction plans to meet the criteria requested by the commissioners. All members of the planning commission approved this permit. To accommodate the drive-thru, meijer plans to relocate the garden area to the back end of the store. The drive thru will replace that area.
