MDOT Changes

UPDATE: LANSING - Michigan Department of Transportation announced several significant changes that would allow for them to consolidate its work force and close eight facilities in order to save money.

These changes will allow for MDOT to be more effective at serving the states transportation needs. MDOT currently has 15 percent fewer employees than two years ago.
Which is worth an estimated $45 million to the department in potential state and federal funds.
They also chose not to fill over 60 manager or supervisor positions. MDOT plans to total of eight facilities through out Michigan.
Chief Operations officer for MDOT Gregory Johnson states,
“These changes will not happen immediately. They will be implemented over the next few months and we hope that all the office changes will happen by the end of this year.”
