MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Whether you're from a Class A school or a Class D school it doesn't matter, because if you're good, you're invited.
The 38th annual Greater Lansing Honor Roll track and field meet gathered track and field athletes from 40 Lansing area schools.
Several Okemos athletes participated in this year's meet including Taylor Moton who finished 5th in the shot put with a throw of 48'6. His teammate Jared Motley placed 1st in the boy's long jump with a jump of 21'1/2 feet.
"It's kind of a best of the best meet," said Okemos Track and Field Coach Brian Harrod. "If you place here you know that in the entire Lansing State Journal area, you are one of the best athletes in your event."
Ashlynn Schiro placed 3rd in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.03 seconds and 1st in the girl's long jump for Okemos.
