UPDATE: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Since the late nineties, Okemos has been home to the Harris Nature Center located on Van Atta Road. The center offers visitors a chance to learn more about the Red Cedar River ecosystem and enjoy what it contains. There are plenty of hiking trails to walk or run, classes to take, and exhibits to see.
