UPDATE:
LANSING - Three years ago 600 international students enrolled at Michigan State University for the fall semester. This year more than 1,200 students, mostly Chinese, will be welcomed onto MSU's campus and LEAP Inc. will be one of the groups rolling out the welcome wagon.
With the help of Governor Snyder, LEAP Inc became a part of the Global Initiative, a program designed to help international students adjust both culturally and professionally to their new surroundings.
On August 15th, LEAP Inc will be at the airport to greet the incoming students. Their services will include offering tours of the city and campus, helping set up housing for the students and for the business savvy students, helping them obtain work visas and permits. Two businesses have been opened in the area by international students and LEAP Inc hopes those numbers will increase. They plan on connecting potential entrepreneurs with lawyers to help the students get information and licenses to open a business.
