• More than 30 people participated the AAUW meeting.

UPDATE: EAST LANSING - The American Association of University Women also known as AAUW recently gathered at Hannah Community Center in East Lansing.

The AAUW welcomed residents to inform about the importance of voting: to get them registered and to make sure women's voice can be heard.

Nationally, the AAUW has be en teaching younger women in college to be involved in voting and to have them make informed choices. The League of Women Voters of the Lansing area was also there so support participants and to discuss the impact of new election and campaign finance laws.

Participants got a chance o get an overview of candidate spending for state and federal offices during the 2012 election campaign period. The meeting lasted about an hour.
