LANSING - The Police driving course was a program set up to help kids as they become solo drivers. They each receive eight hours of training for one day, one hour of classroom work and then seven hours of driving time. In this time, they learn how to control serpentine trajectories, close space maneuvering, skid control, and many other useful tactics to keep them safe. At the end of the day, the teens were taken for rides in the new Dodge Charger cruisers with their parents and sent off with a certificate of accomplishment.
