Born and raised in Southfield, MI, Emily’s career in news broadcasting began as an anchor for her elementary school news program. Her journey to the news desk continued when she was selected as a student columnist for her city’s newspaper, The Southfield Eccentric. It was no surprise she decided to pursue journalism after gaining acceptance to the University of Michigan. In 2009, Emily interned at WDIV/Local 4 News in Detroit. The following year she received a bachelor’s degree in communications from U of M. Today, Emily works as an anchor/reporter for MacDonald Broadcasting in the Lansing area. She also works as a special assignments reporter for LCC TV. Although she never thought she would end up living in East Lansing, one of the biggest rival towns of her alma mater, Emily is looking forward to her experience with Meridian Township’s government access station, HOMTV.
