OKEMOS, MI - On November 14, 2018 Okemos High School Senior and Girls Basketball Standout Laya Hartman signed her letter of intent.

With her family and friends by her side for the special occasion, she signed and committed to Northwestern University. Her parents spoke of how proud they were of her and walked us down memory lane.

“I remember pointing to that girl down there and telling Laya, make sure you watch her. Then over the loud speaker the announcer said starting at guard Maya Moore.”

Mr. Hartman spoke these words with true happiness and large smile on his face.

Mrs. Hartman spoke of the poise and maturity her daughter has grown to have and wished the girls basketball team all the best of luck as Laya embarks on her final season at Okemos High School.
