Meridian Township Fire Department Welcomes Two New Firefighters

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township Fire Department welcomed two new full time firefighters on Friday. Nathan Lafayette and Bradley Beaver were introduced earlier this week at a Township Board meeting by retiring Fire Chief, Fred Cowper.

Many Township employees attended Friday’s induction to welcome these two new firefighters. Clerk Brett Dreyfus conducted the swearing in ceremony and even provided some words of wisdom for Lafayette and Beaver.

Lafayette’s mother and Beaver’s father placed the pins on their sons following being officially inducted.

Along with the induction of these two new firefighters, Meridian Township Manager, Frank Walsh acknowledged Cowper for his 19 years of service to the Township.

“It’s been a great career and opportunity. Hopefully you two gentlemen can follow somewhere in the footsteps and through that meter yourselves and the community,” said Cowper during his concluding statement.
