CATA Forensic Audit Soon Shared for the Public

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - CATA has recently been called into question and Meridian Township Treasurer Julie Brixie confirms that the answers are in the next Township Board packet. After a vote 6-1 Tuesday evening, the Township Board will include the forensic audit at the next meeting.

"CATA has been under a lot of fire for some of the projects they've had over the past year. And they have been subjected to a lot of questioning by our own board members," said Brixie.

CATA experienced issues throughout the year of withholding payroll taxes from employees paychecks. CATA was then issued a fine.

Brixie said the issue was not regarding theft or stealing, rather a lack of thoroughness on the job.

"It's very important to discuss forensic audits in cases like this. ..so all of our residents can have access to look at it," said Brixie.
