On the Road With Emergency Vehicles

UPDATE: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - A Township ambulance was involved in an accident last week on Saginaw Highway in Lansing.

Some residents were concerned that EMS response time could have been delayed with one less unit. Thankfully, that is not the case. The Township has a spare ambulance that they will use until the damaged rig gets replaced.

If you see an emergency vehicle with its lights and sirens on, be sure to pull off to the right side of the road. If you can't pull over, stop your car and the emergency vehicle will maneuver its way around you.

Bill Priese of the Township's EMS team also reminds residents to be alert and ready to react if they see an emergency vehicle. Don't slam on the breaks because there could be ice. Slow down, and pull off onto the shoulder.
