"We had to learn the ins and outs of local election, and here we are at the General Elections also the same date as the Presidential Elections. There's a lot of excitement in the air," Childs said. After working and learning all about elections, HOMTV interns were able put their practice to use.

Junior Reporter Gabriella Galloway said this was a great experience and journalistic opportunity.

"The whole election season has been busy. It's overwhelming, but at the end of the day it's a good experience, and I learn a lot," she said. "It's exciting for everyone because we have been working for so many months to get to this, and the big night is finally here. It's our Super Bowl."
