Cyber Academy Holds Pokemon Go Event at 
Meridian Historical Village

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Life Tech Academy, a cyber school in Michigan held a Pokemon Go Event in the Meridian Historical Village Thursday August 11th.

The goal of the event was to give students at the academy the opportunity to interact with each other and also to try and recruit people to sign for Life Tech Academy.

The idea to host the event came after the Chief Brand Officer for Life Tech Academy saw people playing Pokemon near the Meridian Historical Village.

"I was at one of the Pokestops, actually it was here in the Meridian Historical Village just a couple weeks ago and there were a couple hundred people here and I was like 'Holy Cow this is crazy' so I was thinking how can we spread the word about Life Tech and this was one of the ideas I had and there was a bunch of people here let's spread the word and let's do something fun for the kids and give them a project to work on too," said Matthew Anderson, the Chief Brand Officer for Life Tech Academy.

Two hundred people were invited to the event on Facebook and the event was also shared on the social networking site.

Figurines of Pokemon's made from a 3-D printer were given out.

Students from 7th through 12th grades are eligible to enroll at Life Tech.
