Costco Development Discussed at East
Lansing Planning Commission Meeting

EAST LANSING - On July 27 the Costco Development was discussed at East Lansing's Planning Commission meeting.

The meeting included details of the site plan and rezoning of the project.

The site located at 5800 Park Lake Road would include a free standing fuel station with an attached tire center.

The development also includes 3 vacant outlots. Future uses of the outlots are to be determined. This will change the rezoning of the area from its low density single family, planned unit development to a retail sales business district.

This is all done in conjunction with Ordinance 1373.

The presentation of the rezoning application from TJ Design Strategies, Ltd., would suggest rezoning "approximately 24.74 acres along East Saginaw Highway between its intersections of Park Lake and East Lansing Roads, and along Park Lake Road between its intersections of Merritt and Haslett Roads."

Meridian Township Director of Community Planning & Development, Mark Kieselbach, was at the meeting to monitor all aspects of the site plan.
