New Equipment Being Installed at
Meridian Township Parks

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township Parks & Recreation Department have been busy with renovations to local parks this summer.

"Providing a quality park system is something that our residents expect," said LuAnn Maisner, Director of Parks and Recreation. "We have a passion here to make sure that we can provide the best park facilities possible."

New outside fitness equipment is being installed for adults at Wonch Park, located in Downtown Okemos near Mt. Hope Road.

This comes after the recent addition of a loop trail, newly paved parking lot and a pavilion that is in it's final stages.

Additional fencing and new dugout roofs are being added to the four dugout areas at Hartrick Park, located near Okemos High School.

New playground equipment is currently installed at Hillbrook Park, on Lake Lansing Road in Haslett. Renovations will also be made at the tennis and basketball courts.

In 2015 a total of 15 park projects were completed.

According to Maisner, projects have ranged from parking lot re-paving to restroom renovations, and playground equipment.
