LANSING - The Lansing United roster varies from season to season, but some players, like United defenseman Josh Horne, return for a second season with the squad. Head Coach Nate Miller says Josh is a stronger defenseman and a leader on the field.

"It's nice to have players like Josh come back for another season, guys like him train the new guys and this is how we keep building our program," Nate Miller.

But this season, during United's first week of training, Josh strained his quad and was out for game one. Game two his quad couldn't hold up, it gave out in the 19th minute of play. He was back on the sidelines. Josh has come from Stoke-on-trent, England to play with the Lansing team and he says that the season has ended so quickly for him.

"I sat out 3-4 games straight away and now there's 2 games left in the season and I feel like it just started," said Josh.

On June 26, Josh scored his first goal for United against Indy Eleven. Being a forward in the past, he misses the feeling of scoring a goal. His quad has improved and he said, "it's a work in progress."

After the season, he will head back to Hastings College to finish out his senior year season.
