OKEMOS - The Okemos Lady Chiefs are steadily learning to gel under first year head coach Brandon Schwind. Thursday night the girls came out on top, 10-6, over East Lansing, using a game-plan that has turned in similar, successful results this season.

Using its immense talent to muster up early leads, Okemos ticks that clock into oblivion with tried and true plays aimed at keeping possession.

"When you get up on a team, it is always nice," Okemos head coach Brandon Schwind said after the victory. "We came out of the gate doing all of the right things."

"It helps our offensive system when we can slow it down. We take our chances in transition, of course, but if that opportunity is not there, we like to slow it down and play our game."

When the score is around 10-6, it is quite clear Okemos has controlled tempo. They have won four of its last five games with near identical scores: 10-6, 10-7, 9-6 and Thursday night's 10-6.
