MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - What started as a possible breaking and entering, turned into a discovery of a meth lab in Meridian Township.

On April 3rd, officers were called on the scene at a home on Horizon Drive. The resident asked to turn over potentially hazardous materials which were located on the property.

The Tri-County METRO Narcotics Squad cleaned up the chemicals which they determined later to be a meth lab. The materials were cleaned up without incident.

The resident of the home was the one who called police. Assistant Chief Ken Plaga said at this time they do not believe that resident was involved in the meth lab.
