MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Thursday April 7th Meridian Township held a meeting called Friends of Meridian Pathway.

Among those at the meeting were Township Board members, Planning Commissioners and residents of the Township.

During the meeting, Derek Perry, Assistant Township Manager/Director of Public Works and Engineering, Township Treasurer Julie Brixie and Township Chief Engineer Younes Ishraidi helped explain the plans that the Township had for the pathways.

Perry said they are in the process of gathering input for the pathways.

A resident known as "Bicycle Bill" was concerned with whether the new pathways would be asphalt or gravel.

Some of the solutions discussed included CATA's Bus Rapid Transit Project.

Julie Brixie said they have been working with BRT discussing how they can move non-motorist through the Township.

Brixie also discussed how she wanted to make the North Side of Grand River Avenue wider so its better for those riders that want to go faster.
