What's Next for Redi-Ride in Meridian
Township?

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - As of last year, Redi-Ride has been of major concern in Meridian Township. With that being said, what’s next for this transportation system?

Currently, the Redi-Ride Review Committee has broken the discussion down into 3 phases to discuss at the upcoming meeting on Thursday March 3rd.

“The first phase is to get a clean understanding of what Redi-Ride was established to do, the second phase is to explore whether or not it’s meeting our current needs and the third thing to do is to develop options in how to move it forward,” Meridian Township Trustee Milton L. Scales stated.

“What you should expect from this meeting is a group of people walking into a room with different understandings of a simple concept...yet walking out that room with the same understanding of the concept of this is why Redi-Ride was established,” Scales said.

He mentioned that the committee ultimately wants to assure after going through all 3 phases that Redi-Ride meets the needs of the community and see if they can provide an expanded service to the residents in Meridian Township.

“Redi Ride serves a great service to the residents of our community, it does a great service...but is it doing a contemporary service? That’s what we're exploring,” Scales said.

The next Redi-Ride Review Committee meeting will be held on Thursday, March 3rd from 3-5 p.m. in the Community Room at the new Central Fire Station.
