Holt too Huge for Haslett, Breaks Away
68-56

HASLETT - Haslett forward Avery McKinney converted on a buzzer-beating, fast-break lay up to tie this one, 27-27, to close half full of traded blows, but Holt's physicality took its toll once the third quarter began. 6-foot-10 center Jaron Faulds and forward Quinton Armstrong provided too much beef in the middle, as lethal point guard Jaylin Cooper orchestrated an inside-outside attack that gave the Rams a, 68-56, victory.

This game really came down to defense. Haslett star point guard Brandon Allen could get little going against a strong Rams D that has yet to allow 62 points in a game. Holt became the fifth team this season to score 62 points or more against Haslett.

The Rams are now 7-4 on the season and host coach Carlton Valentine and Lansing Sexton this Friday night at 7:30 p.m.

Haslett goes on the road for its next two games hoping to right the now below .500 ship at 5-6. The Vikings head to Owosso for a tilt at 7:30 p.m. Then, the crosstown rivalry is at Okemos Tuesday, February 2 at 7 p.m.
