Okemos Wrestlers Take Down Lansing Everett

Okemos Wrestlers Take Down Lansing
Everett

OKEMOS - Okemos wrestling hosted Lansing Everett Wednesday night in a landslide at the O-Zone.

Starting out with the JV match-ups, the Chiefs swept with ease, taking the first match in two rounds, and the second in one.

The Chiefs continued their dominance into the later rounds as the varsity stepped onto the mat.

Another effortless round one win to start for Okemos, but one match later, and a gridlock matchup is underway. Okemos starts to gain the upper-hand when Everett takes a frustrated bite into rib. The unique unsportsmanlike maneuver disqualifies and gives another notch to Okemos' lineup.

Chiefs wrestling continues its season and pays tribute to one of its own this weekend. Former Okemos student and wrestler Adam Nevells will be honored at the Adam Nevells Memorial Invite this Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m. Nevells, 17, died in a car crash September 5, 2009.
