LANSING - Okemos hockey, with a record of 5 and 3, faced off against the Capitol Area team, which is made up of student-athletes from Lansing Catholic Central and Mason High. Chieftains kept the puck on the Patriots goal side for about 60% of the game.

In the first period three goals were scored. Okemo' Andres Staky and Jack Dresautel took the Chieftains off to a solid 3 to nothing lead.

At the start of the 2nd period the Patriots were able to find the back of the net with a goal by Nick Guy from Mason. Still in the second and Jack Dresautel scores his second goal of the night making it 4 to 1.

And by the 3rd period Okemos was up 6 to 1 and this match up was done. Okemos finished the night off by beating the Capitol Area Patriots and Head Coach Bill Sipola was proud but says there is still skills to be worked on.

"Here and there we reverted back to a style of play that I didn't like, we didn't really skate that well and it showed because the Patriots gained some momentum, but then we picked it up again and I'll take it," said Head Coach Bill Sipola.
