Toasty Tips To Stay Warm This Winter

Staying warm in the house:
-Block any drafts by placing a rolled up towel at the base of a door.

-Make sure all windows are closed and hang curtains to insulate the windows.

Staying warm with the right clothing:

-Layer your clothes:
Include wool or fleece if you have it.
Loose layers will keep you warmer than tight. Unless active, wear tight clothing against your body to draw moisture and avoid being cold and clammy.

-Wear gloves under mittens to trap more heat around your fingers.

-When choosing winter clothing get 100 gram or higher counts, they provide more warmth.

Staying warm when sleeping:

-You lose the most heat through your head, so wear a warm hat while sleeping.

Staying warm with food and drinks:

-Keep hydrated! Drink plenty of liquid hot beverages such as tea and hot chocolate. These can act as hand warmers too!

-Cooking provides warmth in three ways:

1.) It warms up the air in your home.

2.) Gives you something warm to eat.

3.) The extra calories from the food will help keep your body warm.
