New Central Fire Station Construction Continues with Concrete Entrances Poured

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The new Central Fire Station on the corner of Central Park Drive and Okemos Road in Meridian Township is making progress.

According to Meridian Township Engineer, Ray Severy, "All of the curbs and the gutters for the sidewalks are done and the paving of the parking lot behind the Fire Station is paved and striped."

There is a lot going on in the inside of the building - the first coat of paint is on, electrical work started and construction workers are installing the heating system.

On the outside of the building, the trim is being put up around the doors and the windows with the siding to follow.

By the end of next week, the concrete and asphalt will be finished and landscaping will be started.

The fire station is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

The Dedication Ceremony for the Fire Station will be held on February 1st, 2016.
