EAST LANSING - Thursday, October 15th, the Okemos Chiefs defeated the East Lansing Trojans.

Pink was the color of the evening as the Pink Out was in full effect for the Girl's Varsity Volleyball game in East Lansing.

Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month both teams and many spectators work pink in honor of this occasion.

The Trojans struggled Set 1 with many errors against the Chiefs, but by Set 2 they came back full swing to led Okemos until the final 4 points of the match

Set 3 was even stronger for East Lansing, but the Chiefs' serving was too much to handle for the Trojans.

The Chiefs served hard and gained their momentum and pulled away with a big win in 3 sets.

The Chieftains' Coach Jamie Ianni stated, "This win tonight was a huge accomplishment for the team and the program, not only did our girls win the Regular Season Championship but i are undefeated as well."

"It gives us a lot of momentum going into the Conference Tournament and of course into State Tournament play with Districts and beyond," adds Ianni.

"Senior Rachel Thomas and Junior Ryan Castle stepped up for the Chieftains and 2nd Setter, Katie Clark contributed big to the team's win. "
