Okemos Falls Just Short in Loss to Holt

OKEMOS - At halftime, it was a one score game. Anyone who has followed either of these teams this year didn't see this coming. Neither did the Rams.

Despite a number of players going down with injuries over the course of the game, Okemos found a way to keep themselves in this game until the very end.

Dallis Williams and Chaz Richardson were both kept relatively in check by the stout Rams defense. Where Holt won the game though, was in the trenches. Whenever they needed that first down or another score, they were able to create running lanes for stud running back Trent Stone.

Okemos gave it everything they had in the 4th quarter, scoring 2 touchdowns, one when the Rams bit on a play action fake and left Pat Nugent wide open for a long touchdown, and the other on a QB sneak. However, the Chiefs were not able to stop Stone, who broke open a huge cutback lane to ice the game up on the ensuing rams possession and then once more on their final drive of the game. Today's final: 35-21 Holt. Okemos falls to 0-7 on year.
