Meridian Central Fire Station Back on
Track

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Due to bad weather in Meridian Township, some of the construction work on the Central Fire Station was delayed. Some workers on site try to work through the rain but they can't pour concrete on a wet or mushy surface.

Although last week the concrete for the new offices were poured and filled, there is more concrete in the station itself that needs to be poured. On Monday, the steel deck for the roof was put into place. Monday was the bad rain storm that stopped their working that day.

"We're a little bit behind schedule because of all the rain we've had, so they lost a couple weeks in there but they're hoping to catch up now that they've got the concrete floor for the offices is poured and they put the walls up the rain doesn't bother them too much," said Ray Severy, Meridian Township Engineer.

The planks for the mezzanine are set and with the nice weather coming ahead the construction of the fire station should continue. Once all the concrete is poured anf filled, then the officially roofing will be installed.
