Haslett Library: New Home

HASLETT - The Haslett library has completed the move to its new location, and is now ready to serve the community.

The library officially moved to its new facility on September 18. The building was renovated with a combination of funding from the township and a large local fundraising effort. Local contributors are recognized with their names on the walls of the library, while the largest contributors have library rooms named after them. The new facility has allowed the library to expand and categorize its services.
"A nice dedicated room for the adult collection, a separate area for children through teens there are study tables for the student, we have many students come after school particularly middle school students, there are spaces for them to be," Ann Chapman, Haslett library head librarian.

The facility also included a dedicated program room which allows the library to host a variety of programs without interrupting library visitors. Programs that make use of the room range from Boy Scout troops to college students. According to Chapman patrons comment most frequently on how happy they are with the parking situation. The new facility has 63 spaces compared to the seven spaces at the previous location.

There is also a used book shop that is run out of the library, open a few days a week, contact the library for information on hours and days of operation.
