Meridian Residents Brainstorm Central
Park Ideas

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Park Commission in Meridian Township believe that Central Park brings a lot to the township, but they also believe that there can be more done to make this park a more popular place.

Director of Parks and Recreation LuAnn Maisner and Park Commission Chair Todd Wilson, gathered with residents on July 15th to discuss some possible ideas and add-ons to the park.

Many of the ideas were about physical activity and adding separate bike and walking trails. Another proposed idea was to build a canal between the two ponds in the park for kayaking. Clerk Brett Dreyfus proposed having stations where people could stop along the trails and get a work out in. It was also suggested to make these work out stations a teamwork activity by showing movements that can only be executed with a partner, causing residents to work together to get fit.

On July 28th, the residents can come back to the Town Hall Room to see what the Commission and design consultants came up with. The goal overall is to come up with add-ons that are possible for the design consultants to create and that the residents would like to put to use.
