Season in 27-16 Loss to Lakeshore

LANSING - Coming off a bye week, the Capital City Stealth were looking for their third straight win of the season as the Lakeshore Cougars came into town.

The Stealth got off to a great start as quarterback I.P. Freely connected with wide receiver Mike Frisbee on a touchdown pass to put Capital City up 6-0 in the first quarter. Later in the 2nd quarter, the Stealth drove into scoring territory but settled for field goal to make it 9-0. A touchdown pass by Lakeshore's Jamarr Jackson to tight end Mark Bradford would cut the Stealth's lead to 9-6 at the half.

In the 3rd quarter, Jackson continued his fine day passing as he threw another touchdown pass. This time to receiver Monta Swanigan to take a 13-9 lead. The Stealth would strike back on the ensuing drive with a 54 yard touchdown pass from Freely to Leroy Green, putting Capital City back on top 16-13. However minutes later, the Cougars would jump back out front with another Jackson touchdown pass to give Lakeshore a 20-16 lead.

Jackson went on to throw his 4th touchdown pass of the night, his second to Swanigan, in the fourth quarter to put the game away for good as the Cougars leave Lansing victorious by a score of 27-16.

The Stealth are now 3-2 on the season with three games remaining in the regular season. Next week, Capital City is on the road to face the Muskegon Mustangs who lead the Great Lakes Football League with an undefeated 5-0 record.
