LANSING - The force was strong on this day as the Lugnuts cruised to a 6-2 victory over the Peoria Chiefs.

Opening day pitcher Chase De Jong (5-4) took the mound and through 7 innings, allowed 5 hits, 2 runs, walked 1 and struck out 7. Bringing his single game ERA 3.71 while getting the win as well.

Offensive MVP of the game easily goes to Shortstop Richard Urena. In four at bats, Urena had 4 hits, 2 doubles, 1 homerun, and 3 RBI while hitting for a .281 average.

Lansing improves it's record to 33-23 on the year.
